Borg Warner Part No. is: 5316-970-6721
As fitted to the Audi 100 2.5tdi.
Activ says that the turbine wheel is supposed to be the same size as the VW K14 but it looks absolutely massive on the K16. Will take a look tomorrow as I have a K14 in the stores.
I spent some of today doing some bits on the old boys 2.4td. Full service, stat and coolant, welding repair to lower sliding door roller channel, arb links and arb bushes and stuck my old Audi alloys on it.
Might get some new oil in mine tomorrow ahead of Tuesday. It’s been in since I stuck the 2.5 engine in so it’s probably about 8k old.
Nah, you’ve thought about it. It’s far too close to what I think it’ll do to be a guess.
Getting even more excited as it’s only tomorrow. I guess I’ll post up around this time tomorrow night. I may have time to post the headline figures at least shortly after the run. I’m planning to do a video too. I never get to hear it outside unless I stick my head out the window so I’m really looking forward to hearing it too, unless they have me sat in it that is. The old boy may be late getting there so I can’t rely on him doing a vid but who knows.
Cmon then, you've driven the thing, what do you think it'll make....
I’m honestly in the same ball park as you Reg. Torque especially. Bhp is an odd one as it runs out of puff a tad early but then looking at yours and sausages runs, I think I’m underestimating the peak horsepower that it might make. I’m thinking of torque being between 260-280lbsft. Horsepower 150-170.
It’s very much running great for towing but all round driving, now so much. It’s got fantastic low down torque for pulling and never having to downshift but hasn’t got the Rev range to thrash up to high speeds for fun. All I know is it’s much more powerful that the 2.4td and the drivability with this turbo is far superior to the K14 I had before.
The original target for info: 200bhp and 300lbs ft.
150 bhp 250 lbft small power increases always feel bigger on the road than they are.Hope it knocks em dead.
I’d still be happy at that, current power is great.
Ultimately, this run is pretty much to throw down a baseline figure for the engine following the swap. It’s well documented I have loads of teething problems to iron out and then get it back on the rollers.
I’ve not touched a single thing to enhance it following booking the dyno. I’ll just check the oil level.
