Rear arch on and first wipe of filler. I’d repaired this sill a couple of weeks ago but missed a crusty bit. One on order from central panels so that will be the last big job. Other little jobs are fit new hinge pins, front wings, tidy up the bumpers and reassemble. Drivers side window too I think would finish it off nicely but will see how much £££ the fitting of the gearbox will be first

Front end mod worked a lot better (practice?) so less sweary this afternoon. I’ll have to pull the bottom lip down 5mm or so so that the bottom face of the sill lines up to the door sill but it lines up to the swage lines pretty well. It won’t ever be factory as it was a heap of battered shite when I got it but it’s loads better than it was. I think there must have been some side damage just in front of the rear wheel - big dent and the lip on the inner sill runs out too. It’s a bit better now but will have to filler it. Matt green hides a multitude of sins but this time not rust! Ran out of grinder discs so will final shake the panel and stick on in a couple of days.

Here’s my attempt at wing drains - 15mm copper, then a tank connector. File some grooves into the top, polish it up and test fit. Used a step drill to open up the scuttle hole to 22mm. Fittings were about a fiver off eBay posted plus some left over pipe. Hose pipe to add next to take the compost through the inner arch and job done :0)

Sill done, needs some corrective filler as I distorted it a bit with the modifications to it but it fits.

Drains fitted, wings test fitted. If my bolt not weld is to work then I’ll have to be able to tighten the a pillar bolts through the panel gap / about 8mm. Everything else seems to line up pretty good - a couple of little cuts under the bonnet hinge and a bit of a grind was all.

You have to stop this build thread or I will end up painting mine matt green.
Its coming together nicely. Keep up the good work.

Neighbours laugh at me with my 3/4 inch brush, tin of green paint and a panel at a time. Shit but solid is my plan!!
Got some clip on rubber edging to try to keep water moving towards the drains on order - am 50/50 welding the wings back on, and there’s a leak at the radiator now. That wasn’t there yesterday and it hasn’t moved a wheel in a week.

Painted the roof and with a burst of “I’ve finished welding” optimism prepped the sliding door to find more rot. Chopped out, patched up and filled. Prob needs a lower skin both sides. Next year.. roof needs another coat and I’ll paint the pillar between the windows too.
