Spare wheel holder from a type 2 will be mounted on the back door.

Van goes in Monday for the cambelt, pump and lower bush. All starting to come togeather nicely
I fitted one of those T2 spare wheel carriers to the front of my old T2, to free up internal space, and you had to mount it so that the weight of the wheel was borne by the bumper beneath. I would be wary of fitting the same to a T4 without such support??

Most type 2's do not rely on the bumper to support the spare wheel. It will also have a plate insde the door as reinforcement.
