I guess there is a few to chose from in the Yamaha range, Yamaha have produced some of the more interesting 'styling' exercises to come out of Japan haven't they...most bombed originally, but you try buying a TDR250 for sensible money now...

But no, not TRX...tempted by them though.

Rob was sort of closer but also way wide of the mark with 'R6' - besides it's not really a 90's bike

          So....oddball styling, 1990s Yamaha....

I was fond of the TDR250's and almost bought one once. Had a go on my mates and it was like riding a pogo stick.
I still look at them on ebay now.. and if they were Ā£2k I might be tempted but for the money they fetch now... no thank you. You can get a much nicer bike for that money.

Get out! One of the best styled Jap bikes ever, might qualify as oddball I suppose.

                  Nah....not a stinkwheel....

This went up for sale - see it's not faded pink!

God no, a stop gap measure that is neither FZR Genesis or R1, no ta, besides that region of the bucket list was ticked by the Exup I had last year

I would have said rf900 but you already siad its from the Yammy stable.

I know that - but it is definitely not a 90's bike, it was part of the benchmark for bikes from 2000 on, alongside the R1, a game changer.

I can see your thinking, i.e. fugly but I don't do Suzukis.

This particular yam never sold well in any region that I am aware of, had serious potential but the woeful styling (and tepid power) killed it dead in the water...

                              Boom! He shoots, he scores!

Look past the horrendous bodywork, there's a good bike underneath.

Yet another bike that the engine got designed from one side only, the right side looks quite clean and the left side is a mess, the buell was the same and the ducati is bad, it's like the engine designers did there thing without realising there were a whole heap of pipes and stuff that needed to go somewhere, so they just bung it on the left hand side and only ever take photos of the right hand side. Look at the state of that odd sump/oil tank/cooler thing. urgh!

Nope.. Sorry Reg.. I just can't see it.... and singles above 250cc should only be used in dirt bikes.
