    • Unlike the rain then Si? It's near continuous here in Sunny Yorkshire.

I wish I had a large enough workshop like yours to work on, and park WVan in, and while not being as easy to retrofit as on say a SiDoka, if this continues for much longer, I may have to resort to attaching some buoyancy aids.

          • Have you had any more thoughts on what to fit as a cargo body Si?

            • Something a bit like this Jim. Previous owners have removed all the body brackets from the chassis, which is a pain. Want to do as little welding or drilling to it as it's so straight but I'll have me thinks. Click image for larger version

              • FAB. Does that include those funky running boards as well?

                • Just the back i spect. Been toying with the idea of home made side bars, its just having the time for it all.

                  • In a previous life as a tree surgeon, my old BMC FG dropside had a series of short vertical metal posts that the upright wooden sides were fastened into.

The beauty of the arrangement was that when the sides were folded down, they could be slid sideways and removed, and the metal posts could then be lifted vertically out of position, to create a flatbed. All quickly and simply achieved.

Useful for large loads and overhangs, and always fork-lift friendly. Then some low-life stole it

                    • Sneaked this in with a batch of hinge painting. If the boss can spend 800 quid on an exhaust for his Porch he ain't gonna miss a bit a paint. Click image for larger version Name:	IMG_20231121_091552.jpg Views:	0 Size:	633.7 KB ID:	360416

                      • What's the payload on the SiDoka then Si?

I thought that T4 payloads varied between 800 to 1200 Kg, but it seems that for the pick-up there was a handy 2,000 Kg version as well?

                        • Not sure Jim, it has a rear anti roll bar so not sure if the arms are different or they all have the fittment for the roll bar but it could be a bigger payload.

                          • Don't know what code you got, the yellow are with a bed, the red without like yours, 4 and 5 pot only
Tdi and vr's about 150kg less

                            • It appears that here are other differences if it's a 2 Tonne payload:

                              https://brickwerks.co.uk/product/whe...2000kg-syncro/

Makes sense I guess, if heavier loads are anticipated. Different sized bearing housings as well possibly??

A potential upgrade for full-dresser camper conversions?
