  • Just skimmed through the whole thread, tenacious attention to detail, fantastic work so far.

Is there an update on the long nose versions?

I’m definitely interested in a long nose set, please add me to your pre order list.

2002 long nose caravelle, UK RHD.

    Keep up the excellent work!

    • Hi bugwhizz, welcome to the forum. I'm sure Turk will be along soon and tell you where he's at. I hear there's been a lot of sanding things down going on

Welcome to the forum Bugwhizz and many thanks for the kind words. Now added to the 'Pre-Order List' my friend
Slow progress on the long nose version I'm afraid mate, as I decided to concentrate on completing the 'Classic' & 'Performance' series first. But progress is progress none the less These project updates are just a shortened version of the entire project that' on the other T4 forum ................ there are over 320 pages of stuff to read on there if you're interested.

As mentioned, I've spent an awful lot of time sanding stuff, PCP resin that's as hard as nails when cured, so I'm in the ideal situation where I could go out and commit a crime ..............
          ............. I've got no finger-prints left !

And thanks guys for acknowledging our new forum member

                          • Turk could you possibly manufacture some clear long nose lenses?

                            • No, not 'lenses' as such mate, as the OEM glass 'lenses' have the beam deflectors etched into them, both the short and the long nose. I'm planing on doing 'clear' acrylic type covers. I can get away with that because the Hella units I'm doing have the beam deflectors built-in. So if your intentions are to simply change the 'covers' on your standard headlights because they're damaged, you won't have a beam pattern at all.

Judging by what you were asking on the 'Black Headlight' thread, I assume that's what you need to do.

I mistakenly agreed to only 4 clips retaining the glass lenses on, in the 'Black Headlight' thread, I forgot about the ones on the ends! In fact, I now seem to remember that there may be 9 in total >>

Once all the clips are removed, you can just pry the glass lenses out .................. being careful not to damage the rubber seal >>

You may still be able to order the replacement glass lenses, but I'll have dozens in stock soon as I'll have to purchase the entire long nose headlight units for my custom quad set up, so won't be needing the glass bit. The entire internal structure of the long nose headlights will be cut out to accommodate my quad set up. And my covers will either be transparent ones or the dual aperture type >>
