  • ABL 1.9 td fuel pump

Hi folks, seriously in need of advice here
    .
I have a recon fuel pump to fit to my T4 with a 1.9 abl engine.

The drive flange which fits on the taper of the pump shaft has no keyway or ID marks.

How do I find the correct position to align the drive to the pump rotation?

I assume a specialist job, can anyone recommend someone?

Not a lot I can say here. I can bolt em on and off. But never had the drive flange off reckon i'd loose the magic and star dust outta the pump if I did.

The star dust was pouring out the exhaust in great white clouds, retarding the pump improved it but then noticed fuel leaking from the accelerator shaft.

I thought I would be smart and grab a recon pump.....now I'm not so sure.

Is the spindle locked as it may already be timed up?

              Nope. It can't be.

What kind of prat sells a 'recon pump' with the flange not fitted.

Do you have a DTI - I can send you a guide if you have.

You'll need a special shaft locking tool as well...

Or send the pump to an expert in the North Devon area who will fit the piece for you.

Do you have the old pump?

I can't turn it by hand but i don't think that means its locked.
There certainly is nothing on it to suggest its locked.

Don't give me a hard time here bit it was through flea bay.

They recon all kinds of inj. pumps, turbos and alternators, uk address, good feedback and the pump looks like a genuine job.

Hopefully they will get back to me tomorrow,
