what can i say, seems to work more than okay for me, the panel doesn't flap at all as i used the two side brackets at the front to act as a wind deflector and sticking a volt meter on it shows it still gives great charge and been on nearly a year. i go away for 3 or 4 days at a time, run a coldbox fridge, television, led lights, external led's in the awning as well as charging two phones, 4g wifi box and my tablet and my battery has never been under half full, i did change the controller to a dual battery one in the summer to help keep the engine battery topped up. still camping now and no great worries

if your happy I suppose that's all that matters.
in the winter your amount of charge to battery's is 4 times less eg his panel about 4 amps = 16 amps max in summer , in winter it will e about 4 amps max at the best, this means you will be able to put charge to your battery's in winter but it will not keep them topped up ,your battery's will start to sulfate and will take less charge each year until they die. anyways time will tell .

Custom T4 black solar panels
Originally posted by jaymarley View PostI ditched everything and bought 3 flexi panels cut to my own dimensions to fit in-between the roof stiffeners. 3 panels, two 90w and one 75w and a good controller, the results are both battery's in the summer are always fully charged no matter how long I leave it, I could leave my stereo on all year and the battery would still be charged.
But these panels look a bit small and under powered (and not black). I'm guessing they had to be cut small because of the size of the cells... Anyway I want some of those gloss black Lensun semi-flexible fibreglass panels, so I contacted them with specs as per Jaymarley - (3 panels between the T4 roof stiffeners)
2 at 1070 x 500 and 1 at 1070 x 440.
The panels can be made, as 80W and 60w (12v)
here's the quote:
Customizing one 60W black flexible solar panel, USD245/PC Shipped
Customizing one 80W black flexible solar panel, USD289/PC Shipped
So, 220W for $823 - £656 (jan 31st 17) pretty steep! Wondering if anyone else is interested there might be small discount for numbers.
That price doesn't include VAT - but since I don't intend on selling them... so, erm that's ok right?
BTW - sorry my first post is dubious business opportunity in the far east - I'm dealing with a lady called Abby at the manufacturer's agent(?) lensun ... so feel free to verify
1070x440 specs
1070x 500 specs
Planning on sikaflex'ing directly to roof or possibly with an insulating layer - any thoughts on any of this very welcome.
Also - can anyone tell me which solar charger I need for 220W 12V system?
500 panel spec

aliexpress is ware I bought mine and the price you got was a little higher than mine. if you look on alie there are a few people that will cut your panels to size. be warned though it cost me nearly double because the first seller sold me very badly made panels, insist they send you photos before they send them, if they wont show actual photos of the panels don't buy them . i stuck mine down with spoiler tape and sealed round edge with skyflex, make sure you get the skyflex under there panels edge because the wind will try to lift the panel edge up. go to this site , this is the controller I am using, don't buy a shit 30 pounds one like I did. http://www.sunstore.co.uk/MPPT-Charge-Controllers/

Thanks for the replies, I'm delaying buying the panels - possibly for a year or more to see if the price drops! Moving on to interior build, 12v leisure battery wiring etc. And now thinking I might add myself to the quads list (#101 ffs!) - spend the cash on producing light rather than tryna' capture it.
