Yep, great week, you would of had to try harder than that to spoil it!

I've had the week off, my joy barely dented by getting another year older.

Didn't manage to get the tailgate anywhere near finished, which is fine as I had a blast doing other things.

Talking of blasting - I put a guide coat down today

few patches need further filling and shaping, but that's the point of the guide coat

Why would I or anyone else waste their time spoiling your week? Oh and a belated happy birthday.

      • I started these ages ago, gluing the leather trims onto the door handles and then getting bored and sticking them back on the T4-projects-to-do shelves for Ron.

So with the aid of some super glue and a very sharp scalpel I finally finished trimming the door handles.

          • Molly likes those, but like you say once you start your chasing improvements all round the interior.

Talk her out of it, they must have taken 4 hours to apply. Do look good though.

                  • Far too classy for you Reg.

Are they one ones from RetroRetrims? I saw these months ago and was very tempted as the came in a few colours and stitches. They would go well with our camper. I wouldn’t bother with the work van as the door cards always look like a camel has backed up and shit at them.

Yep retro retrims, I went for the most expensive leather option, got a feeling they were about £60 the pair, shocking for two scraps of leather but damn they are nice.

                      • I wasn't happy with the filled shape on the right hand corner of the tailgate so I made a template from the left side and used it to get the right side into shape, I ended up belting it with a hammer to get the metal back sub flush to the template form, and the filled it again.

As it's all the rage at the mo, I thought I'd do some painting.

Poor prep, holes, wells, scratches - they are all there and the primer makes them nice and obvious.

                            • And with that extra fuel there’s now no reason to miss the next meet in the midlands.
                              We’ll see you there Reg.
