Finally got around to trimming the cooker pod, masked up to prevent overspray and I'm pretty chuffed with how it turned out
Just have to trim the other part now, I pulled it out the van, modified it to fit the sub tube and cut a couple of holes in the lid so they can be lifted, also want to add a simple feature to hold the lids up because it is awkward to try and hold the lids up with one hand whilst you load it up.

My method for trimming panels and doors
Glue the material to the door face and turn it over, I used a black permanent marker to colour in the finger hole because folding in the carpet leaves gaps and it sticks out like a sore thumb.
Mask off the panel and pre cut the corners so they will fold over neatly without overlap,
Glued the edges, give it a few seconds to dry before folding over the edges and pressing them down firmly
Using a new stanley blade, and a straight edge, trim the edges to the edge of the masking and then peel it away
I cut the finger hole out into six segments like a pizza, fold the segments in and then press them into place by pushing a suitably sized socket into the hole.
In other news I picked up an 02M six speed gearbox today for 30 which was a bargain and when I got there he offered me a starter motor as well so I had that as well. Not sure if the box will be any good, I've a sneaky suspicion that it might be the one that was taken out of his car because it was broke....just need it to see if it will fit as well as the 02Q.
Few problems immediately - the OS output is a cup and not a spline so I may have to run a really long driveshaft. and the adaptor plate doesn't fit over the cup so I have to remove the cup, which hopefully will reveal a spline.
Also the gearbox mount points differ at one point so of the four mounting points on my bracket only three bolt to the gearbox, it'll need an extra little plate to sort that out.
A hefty plate bolted to those two points on the gearbox with a captive bolt so the bracket can bolt up. And yes that's my gash first bracket trial, the second proper one is welded much better.

Because it was dirt cheap, has the right numbers on it and in theory the ECU doesn't care how many injectors are attached to the pump - besides its remapped so the code is changed.
I wanted to keep my original ecu and have a spare to mess about with in case things went wrong..... I think I subsequently bricked my original ecu, it's in a box on my garage shelf with Robs address on it, been there nearly 12 months now, may send it one day....

Storage box trimmed and modified for the sub to fit
The latches to hold the lids up were fairly simple but work fine
And with the cooker pod fitted, a flat platform is created...
....dropping the seats makes even more flat surface to chuck a matress/airbed on - might have to do something about that gap though, by putting an extension piece on the back of the seats that swings up when the seat back is folded forward, or I might not bother.

I've finished the reversed centre wheel so time to do my own stuff
Rescued the tailgate from behind my enduro bike - bit embarassed to say the tax disc said 2011, tried to start it and no go, so it got shoved back in it's hole....but rest assured, its time will come again.
Got my trusty ASDA locking 'stanley' knife out, so much better than a 'stanley knife - the blade locks and doesn't retract and the head and handle are norrow so it gets into gaps.
And in matter of minutes, far less time than I expected to fit with it for the window was out
So, lets look at what I have to deal with...
There are dents
And rust.....
And I was vindicated in my decision to remove the glass.
