    • What you need Sausages is a set of Stanadynes!

      • Sausages - what size and clutch setup did you end up running with your tdi conversion? Any slippage at 360Nm torque?

        • Reg's favourite, g60/vr6 darkside flywheel, with Sachs hd plates, really smooth engagement and nice and solid with no slip at all. Well happy with it

Did you go for the paddle or plate clutch?

Fuel economy seems to be fine, my fuel gauge is a lying ****

                • Just looking at this stuff for my own cluster upgrade Sausages. I think you might need to recalibrate the ecu mate.

                  • Who/what does that involve? At the mo the needle drops fairly quickly on a run, then when I stop for whatever reason it goes back up

A bit like the water temp sensor late last year , your ECU needs the correct sensor voltage and ECU factor to send the correct signal to the cluster. I can't help at mo trying to find it myself in the 2.5! Could try testing the cluster using VCDS just in case it's the cluster.

                      • Fuel guage aint ECU controlled.

Pretty sure none of the loom conversion involved the fuel sender???

                        • Pretty sure the earth runs from the speed sensor on the gear box for the fuel gauge , had the same problem

Excellent - that'll make it easier to solve.

                            • Been looking at your random electrical gremlins.

Did you notice if you also lost either of the following

                              a- brake lights

                              b- cab heater/vent fan

                              • Didn't notice the brake lights as my mutant stalk eyes hadn't been fully developed at that point. Didn't try the fan. I still think it is my mega duff battery, leave it a day or so now and it won't start the van.
