Smoke on the td only there off boost on mine anyway, once the air and fuel balance all good and makes one hell of a difference, but then anything above 68 bhp is an improvement.

Fitting a larger compressor wheel to the turbo would cure that and give you a little extra bhp/torque too. Which turbo are you running?

Nah, you read too much

Smoke = heat energy = turbo spool rate = fun + cyclist abuse

The EGTs dont get anywhere near dangerous, and it'll clear when the boost chimes in.
