They are the same. Buy the 016E it being the later version.

Like Active said, when you see a part number and the only difference is a higher letter of the alphabet it generally means its a revised version ie later and improved.

No idea Si, I dunno if early vans had central locking? That was my first guess to. Maybe they're not the original doors. That wouldn't surprise me either.
