Mot yesterday and such is my luck that the blue bastard failed.
Leaking steering rack, both lower ball joints with excessive play and a rear brake pipe twisted.
The good news is that the garage may be able to start the work on Friday due to a cancellation.
Bad news is I don't yet know how much its going to cost.
The month before insurance is due as well.

Get the work and parts quoted... my gut feeling is that the steering racks can be expensive - why I don't know.... think a mate had it done a few years back under the same scenario and was seething after the bill was presented... sorry cannot recall clearly...

Rear brake hose twisted = fail.
both rear brake hoses deteriorated = advisory.
How can you advisory something that's already failed.
Non commercial tyres - load rated though.
Nothing about the wheels though.
Wipers smear - that's because the windscreen was dirty, easily Corrected by spraying screen wash.
Asked about the corroded rear suspension mount, it needs cleaning and painting, there's nothing wrong with it.

Advisorys are just that. They're bringing your attention to something before it turns up to bite you on the bum. Some are a bit stupid though. My mate once had an advisory for having a winter tyre!
