I took a video of me tapping the panels before and after flashband, results to me seem minimal will post if anyone is interested. Definitely a duller thud but how much difference it makes???
Cheers Dave, yup and at that moment in time the place for the hamerite was on the barn floor [emoji23] quick question, what's this? and please don't say a rusty van!
It's here
Ha ha... Predictive text failure!
It's a vent so that when you slam the back doors shut the air pressure can escape - the driver & passenger doors have small ones in the bottoms of the door cards. 👍
Ah yup that makes sense, sorry I didn't refresh before replying, so my not airtight at all pallet panels will be fine to cover it but probably shouldn't cover it with the insulation then.

So Managed another rare day on the van today, spent most of it prepping for the new carpet lining, the welding was finished this week, really happy to not have gaping holes in the floor anymore.
There are more but I won't bore you.
I've never done any lining before so was pretty nervous to say the least. The rough edges you can see will be hidden by panels, I got interrupted and thrown out of the zone though, the rear pillar (sides and top) I was trying to do in one, had to cut it though due to my brother wanting help moving a bed, the missus finishing work and a cold Peroni appearing in my hand. It seems fairly easy to make the seams blend (ish) though, I've covered all the holes with silver tape, if you don't do this they will discolour the lining.
I had a can of WD and a cloth handy to get rid of some inevitable overspray.
Hopefully the sun tomorrow will encourage the missus to chill at the caravan so I can finish the lining, if I do I'll be happy. It's amazing how much more time the prep takes compared to the actual job, removing the old contact adhesive took an age.
I went for the light lining against my better judgement, I knew it would look better to match the pallet wood, but it's gonna pick up dirt and marks easily though.
A boring video for you https://youtu.be/2CTaUk7UQ5I
