As asked for by Simon
Being as I'm quite happy with the old bus and where it's at, at the moment, I decided to get another old dub to mess about with.
Just so happens that a good mate had a mk2 golf he was fixing up and had decided that with his polo, 1973 beetle and another old dub it was time to make room, happy days for me [emoji106]
When he got it, it was in a bit of a state and looked like shit to be honest
My mate done most of the work on it, discs, pads, timing belt, welding, spraying etc
It wasn't that bad and underneath is solid so that made things easier.
To get it through the MOT it needed a rear wheel cylinder as the nsr had seized solid, we got that changed and took it back...... no advisories ! Not bad as it was sitting outside under a tree for a year [emoji16]
Since I've had it I've changed the waterpump, sorted a few gremlins in the electrics and sorted the water leaks inside, common problem on these if the door membranes aren't fitted correctly, I made my own in the end.
Now it's drying out inside and the leaks have all gone, I hope to do a few little bits to it, I got a bonnet bra for it and next on my list is drop the headlining and sort the sag out.
Anyway this is how it looks at the moment, I'm sure it'll change as I find bits and pieces over the shows
It's a pretty good little run about and for a 1.6 auto it's not too bad on fuel either, keeps me entertained and stops me bolting and fixing loads of shit to the van that don't really need to be on it [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
