Meanwhile, That festival we are all going to has given urgency to the need for a place to stash stuff, the sort of stuff that needs to be stashed away in a safe place. I can't afford a under seat safe/swivel job and not do I want one. I don't want the bench seat to swivel and I have other plans for the driver seat.
Being as I'm a Northern boy at heart (read tight as cramp) I don't want to pay for one either.
Take one ammo box and empty any remaining ammo, responsibly.
Fasten in one piece of wood, steel would be better but hey ho.
Bolt into place, well back away from prying eyes (read Guadia Civil).
It's a padlock away from finished.
Cost was nothing.Last edited by arfur fox-acre; 27 May 2017, 08:02 PM.Me cago en la madre que te parió!

Dual purpose van.
Nice write up Arfur, are you going to put a panel over the under seat stash to make it more hidey? I'm about to do some roller painting too, are you worried about the heat with a black roof at all?
Also enjoy the beer you've earned it.

No panel. What with the warning triangles and yellow jackets....soare bulb kit etc you won't see it anyway..
As for the roof......it's been mentioned before but it is well insulated and I have a.c. so it should be fine. Plenty of black cars and vans here, can't be that bad.Me cago en la madre que te parió!

Well, what with the site being down I had nothing to distract me from working in the van. I decided to turn my attention to the seat covers.
Not a moment too soon either. These were a stop gap to protect the seats underneath. Note how I arranged them right hand drive layout for the photo, so they made sense to you......
Not sure what was the point of the covers really....they are tired for the least.Me cago en la madre que te parió!

So I need to separate the bases and then get stuck on this....why can't I get to this bolt properly? This isn't like vw. Must be me doing something wrong.
Bases apart I can treat them to a coat of matt black. Had a few old welds to remove first. No ideas what was previously welded to the seat based but it wasn't from the factory. I need to flush them off so they don't keep catching my legs and reading my skin off but I don't want to hide them completely because it's part of his history.
