Thanks guys. I will be sound deadening the rear area behind the speakers. Just need to find a old looking grille now.

For the speaker grills - Why not - Old (but v large) scallop shells with multiple holes drilled through Arf - apologies but I'm trying my best to be artistically creative!!

      • Something along those lines. Not sure how the shell would drill though and mutiple sounds tedious....have enough with the sanding

          • Wonder if i could do it with a starfish? Obviously the colour would need to match so I'm thinking chocolate, perhaps.

              • I've been busy the last few weekends.
First up, I finally cut a mirror for the frame I had previously covered in my re-recycled Ricrhys coffee sacks.

So I fitted this and mounted it in the van.

This void made the speakers rattle so I cut a few pieces of wood to create a speaker box.

Lined the new box with pieces of foiled backed camping mat I had left from the roof.

This meant I could start to fill in the gap at the wheel arch.

Which is where this comes in. Found at the bins this has real patina, not that fake shit I keep painting on everything.

Knowing where I stand I can now fit the hidden plug socket inside.

Since I needed to paint the bottom half of the new boxes I thought I would paint my tailgate panel. It's one of the first things I made and it seems a long time ago now.

Over again with a slight darker shade.

Finally a few more passes with an almost black grey. Woodgrain effect...again....but it needs to fit with the rest of the van.

The speaker grilles have been treated to a coat of silver, followed by a blow over with some bronze before another light dusting of silver.
All left over rattle cans. No expense spent.

                              • There are a few other things passed. The tv has been ripped out as the baking heat has killed it. I will buy another, hopefully with a DVD built in. I will make this quick to remove so it too doesn't die.

I had placed an old dinosaur toy in the grass by the bins so I could watch and chuckle as it made people jump. A little light hearted joke.

We have lots of snakes around here. Funny, no?

Well somebody thought not and has stolen it and thrown it away. No sense of humour some people.
