I also like the stamps on it, handle with care/this way up etc. i want to fit some mosquito nets that i reclaimed of a job and i believe these may be of interest to those of you with side windows/sliders. I dont know how available they are in the uk though.
I start by cutting them down to size, allowing for the end cap and spring that i have removed earlier. The tape is to retard movement of the insides.Me cago en la madre que te parió!

I refit the end cap and spring, retension it and fasten into the unit.
I then fit the handles and guide caps. The guide rails can be seen in this photo. There is a brush pile to go in thiese then cut to size.
I use the netting from the other one to enclose the back of the unit that i have left open for air flow, staple it and tape the edges to avoid catching it. This stuff will tear if abused.Me cago en la madre que te parió!

Closed
Open.
There are some feet to be fitted yet and these act as catches to hold it closed but i dont have any here with me. This should keep the little buggers of my biscuits. I see the pictures of some of your vans and the ones with a bank of units down the side with no door would be ideal for these nets. They would roll up out of the way above the window into its cassette and close to the counter tops below. Fresh air and no flys, perfect.Me cago en la madre que te parió!

Another coat of varnish today, this wood is really thirsty. Given that we had the betty boop thing (got my skull on the tailgate board so couldnt protest at her wanting that in there) and the wood was free this has cost me a tin of varnish. And that was from a chinese shop so will have been pennies.
Cant do too much on a sunday because i live on a golf course and they players get arsey when they are putting to win on the eighteenth and i fire the grinder up.Me cago en la madre que te parió!

So back to the saga of my lights. These need painting.
Stripped down, two coats......much nicer colour now.
Made some boxes to fix the earlier problem of too much gap. These have been made oversize to allow fitting of a small tweeter at a later date. The opportunity was there so why not?
Covered everything in a carpet like material that i guess is similar to the mvm stuff you lot love. Only, its not at all stretchy and was again from the chinese shop so will be the poorest of quality possible. Still, it went well and i am pleased with it.
This was the paint used. Very happy with this.Me cago en la madre que te parió!

Not sure what to do with this. Its from the front of the roof console, shows mpg etc i guess. If i remove it the space will be nasty looking so any suggestions would be nice..........
Found this behind the, now redundant, interior light. I think its from a previous alarm but i dont know. Best leave it alone. Could be a bugging device i suppose.
Door closed
Door open. Let there be light.
At a later date i will add a switch from the dashboard to operate them as well.
Carpeted the little end pieces that probably have a name of some sort. The space occupied by the old interior light will be filled with a reversing camera when i get round to it. The centre console is a bit gappy but i have some audi tt roof lining comimg from England and its foam backed so finger crossed on that. Its almost black/charcoal grey so im looking forward to it tying the other bits together a little.Me cago en la madre que te parió!

These dont quite fit and thats a real shame. They match the ones in my tailboard so.....
Thats better. These are going to need silicone-ing into place so i will upgrade the cable and glue them down. I also butchered the cover grilles so thats going to get stuck down too.
Thanks for listening, hope i havent bored anybody too much today, Arfur.Me cago en la madre que te parió!
