The thing is you have waited so long to do this and now you want to rush it and feel pressured to do so. Why? When it's done you will feel empty. Take your time with your build and enjoy it.

As I'm here have some test fit photos. They aren't very good but may give an idea.

Power points in. I will pass a usb charger through into the front box so a phone can be charged and thrown into there out of sight.

Van as he stands now. 25 pages into the build and he still looks like this. In four months his replacement arrives and I can start on making him more camping friendly as opposed being work focused. Between now and then not much will change.
I have also repaired the front grill, fixed a loose headlight, repaired a loose indicator and cleaned the ton of oil that collected on the undertray over the last 20 years. Back to work tomorrow, boo hoo.

                  • Right so our roccodog is getting anxious for more pictures so I will update briefly.
Whist I still don't want to do much to the rear until he has retired I do want to focus on the new layout, if you can call it that. I want a sofa bed at the back and a removable kitchen pod/unit that can fit by either of the side doors or against the front seats when the bed is folded out. Then when camped for more than one night it can be put outside giving more room and allow both side doors to be open for cooling air.
                    So, here goes.

First thing it will need is lots of drawers. These can be a ballache to make so I am going to use this.

                    • Now, red won't fit the scheme so I need to strip it for paint. That means removing the drawers but the sliders are a son of a bitch the remove.

I drilled some holes to allow me to press the tabs out that prevent the drawers from sliding all the way out.

Sanded properly. The one time in my life I prep properly and Turk isn't around to see it. Man he would have approved as well.

Various coats throughout the day then inside at night because it's very windy and also the warmth will help it cure.

The good lady wife isn't overly pleased but hey ho.

                          • The red bits won't show. The inside will still be red but so are the soles of her shoes (for no reason whatsoever) so she shouldn't complain for this.

                            • This is set aside to cure and harden leaving my attentions to my Sat nav holder.
One day this will be a reversing camera but for now it's an old Sat nav. It goes where the cabin light once was.

A bit of ply, some glue.

A quick wipe over with the sand paper

Id like to point out, no poinsettias were harmed in the making of this post...despite the photographic evidence that suggests otherwise.
