Looks a bit awkward getting to the oil filler cap?
Yeah, it is a little awkward - but I figured I wouldn't be topping it up that frequently compared to my ABL. I was trying to use as much of the golf intercooler pipes as possible to keep costs down...
Got a funnel with a flexible nozzle on it, does the trick. 👍
Slight oil leak from oil filter housing.
Rev counter doesn't work till you blip the throttle - oil light flashes till you do also.
Exhaust smell in engine bay - think I need to horse up the down pipe bolts a little more.
I'd love to fix it too... Don't like stuff not functioning properly, and certainly beeping and flashing lights on start up worry me!
Just thought oil level was low, because it's got a leak, but slowed that down and then started it up, gave it a blip to test the potentiometer and it went out (I'd read about someone having this same issue on that other forum...).
I have been thinking of an oil pressure gauge just to be doubly sure...
I will take some .I bought a lot off amazon and removed the top oil pressure sensor on the head and fit in there as my top sensor wasn't be used as a did the later blue clock conversion
What oil pressure should a VW engine run at when warmed up?
The oil light/buzzer - is the oil stainer clean? what's the idle speed?
0.3 bar at idle, or quoted from another forum 10 psi per 1000 rpm... I'm no technician though, just quoting what I've read.
I'm fairly sure that the buzzer/light is not oil pressure related, merely the clocks not seeing the 'w' signal from the alternator without a blip of the throttle - oil pressure being calculated in relation to engine RPM. That's how I've read it anyway...
Took it down to work today, pulls well, but didn't try too hard. Had it ticking over for a while (can't do it at home without annoying the neighbours...), sat nicely, temperature steady, no dramas... 👍
MOT tomorrow, not that it worries me too much, and then it's on the road official! Happy days! ☺☺☺
