  • Ball joints etc

    Hi all
Whilst looking at what jobs I can get done when I get some time off in future.
I thought may aswell have a look at ball joints, track rods bushes etc.
I am looking to buy ahead of time and have started looking at various brands.
What are the brands to go for?
I've read really conflicting reviews regards febi, myele etc.
Dealer maybe guaranteed quality (or not)prices are high.
    Your thoughts?

I always try to get Topran parts as from what I've seen they seem the closest to OE for me.

Merle HD seem to have a good rep on here.Just don’t scrimp, you get what you pay for 99% of the time.Just prepare to swear profanitys at those track rods.Little buggers nearly broke me....

        Get genuine prices first...

Steer (sorry...) clear of firstline stuff, absolute shit. Meyle, Delphi, some Febi stuff - topran also good (not used their joints though).

I used to be able to use TPS always good prices for VW stuff, but they have decided to enforce the trade only rules since last month.
No scrimping but definitely don't want to waste any.
I've heard that the track rods are a delight [emoji23]
          Heritage are selling Myele.
Getting up and down off the floor doing stuff marking me swear lately.

I go for Lemforder out of choice for bushes and joints. Never had any problems with Moog. In contrast to almost everyone else I've had some real crap from Febi.

As you're planning this for the future then definitely clean off the threads on the track rods and get a bit of plus gas etc. on them. See if you can get them free before taking it all apart.

I've got some spare arms to fit bushes and joints to so I can just swap them over to save down time. I always try to do it this way.
