    Strange problem

    Guys n Gals
    Having some problems with auld faithful
    on starting she wont rev freely, very sluggish on acceleration until 2500 revs when she takes off like a bat outa hell ( maybe not that quick...lol )
    On advice of a mechanic I have booted it up the motorway in 4th to clear carbon....runs great
    HOWEVER....if she sits for even 10 minutes she's all congested again
    Any ideas floks
    Planning an EGR bypass and pipercross filter but want this problem solved first obviously

    Could be an egr problem, defo blank it off.

    Get it plugged in... Fault codes should give you an idea.
    Have you tried unplugging the MAF sensor and briefly trying it?

    Not tried the maf sensor yet
    Will get it plugged in on Monday an see what comes up

    Mine was similar to this, it turned out to be MAF sensor, as above if you just unplug it and go for a drive and it's a bit better you'll know weather you can eliminate that, no signal from it and the ecu puts it at a default I think, no signal is better than a bad signal. It's here on the ACV not sure on yours. Sorry if that's teaching you to suck eggs

    Did get a golf in once which woundnt go worth a shit nothing on obd but was faulty MAF
