  • Looking good. Is it the left part of the arch that’s a different colour?

      • Just looked at more pictures.. colour just needs a drop of white, black and maybe a touch of blue.

They were struggling to find a perfect match in the paint shop, the original colour is R114 but that seemed to dark, none of the colour cards seemed to match either so I’ve given them the polished front panel and they will play about with colours.

Do the black clamp bits come as standard with them (the bits going over down ridge)

                            • I haven’t updated my build thread for a long time so thought I would put in what I’m currently working on. I want to have roof bars on the van but hate the way they clamp to the side of the van and most bars are big and bulky. I want to have some that are stream line to the van and that are easily removable. This got me looking at how the bars fit on the t5. For those who are not aware the t5 has a rivnut factory installed into the gutter that the roof bars simply bolt into. So I purchased a section of t4 roof, thanks husky man, and started playing around with ideas.

These are simple blind rivnuts that have a serrated shaft for them to grip. With the skin of the roof in the gutter being 3.5mm there is plenty of material to grip to. I managed to get a torque of 180nm and the rivnut still didn’t spin but what it did do is deform the rivnut it self. Not that this much torque is needed anyway but this is all experimental.
