They are the same rating as the Calibre Vintages that I have on at the mo. There's always that nagging doubt in the back of your mind

Yep - JR 14s and the only wheel of there's that I like apart from their BBS RS alikes.

I've a thing for compomotive TH

    and Bola B12 as well

Rota's D154 is even closer to the JR14 but without the mesh.

    - they are similar and would suit a slabby old van - I think the JR14s combined the RS and the TH styles nicely.

Tonight there was more welding and lots of cutting, before I started a visual check confirmed my suspicion that I must be getting low on wire - big fillets and a lot of feed soon kills a small 5 kg spool.

With the dregs left on the spool I had to tack everything so I set about the last couple of uprights using 25mm x 3mm angle and then started the triangulation process

That's the back face of the seats - veeing the butt joints before welding produced a much nicer weld as it filled flush to the surface but also cleaned the oil off the angle that had been applied for storage at the stockholders.

With the front face triangulation done I had just enough wire to run full welds in on the front face joints before the spool run out.

All done, weighs about 17kg and I just need to buy more wire tomorrow and go round with full welds before dressing back with a grinder and flap wheel.

All great wheels but great choice, really like them with that mixed design. What diameter ?

Really like bola b12s, but at the time I couldn’t afford them and the Audi monoblocks available locally were similar so plumped for those. Now thinking of doing them black. Wolf race do some very similar to those Jap ones and are van rated.
