Do you mean the hole where the plastic vent should be fitted?

You should be able to reach down into the arch.

No I'd meant the inner arch bit that eagle02 sent me the link for. I think I've noticed from browsing other people's builds the plastic vent your meaning. A roughly 100mm rectangle? I'm still not 100% how it's meant to look as factory so been hunting for a pic with no success.

After grand plans of spending the whole weekend at the van I only managed to get a few hours this Afternoon.

Trying to keep to the factory seams.

        Drilling out the spot welds

Although I didn't get long at it and found it a daunting idea to begin with I've thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon. Here it is temporarily weather proof.

        And had a helper

It wont be to long before you start putting good metal back in. It'll go from this to this. Click image for larger version

Almost mate, head lining and pillar trim to refit then decide on what to have in the cargo bay.

I'm still miles away from Molly's van's standard but I'll get there. Still a load of rusty bits to cut out and replace. Tbh I'm loving every minute of working on it... so far. We'll see if I'm still saying that in a few months.

Having for years just done patches for the mot on old motors for clients. It was really enjoyable to do the blue one as its nearing the end i'm looking for another ruff one to rebuild now. Would love a chassis cab.

Applied some deox gel to the bits I couldn't get with flap wheel. Trying to get it cleaned up as best as possible so I can hopefully start welding tomorrow if the weather is kind [emoji946][emoji943].

Rusty bits I cant get to with flap wheel.

All clingy'd up as per instructions. Now to leave it from 1-6 hours then wire brush and wash off. I'm thinking wait the full 6 hrs.
