Shouldn't matter as far as the ground is concerned. The feed will drop if theres loads of joints in it so fuse and connectors and no diversions. Tbh unless you buy a calibrated expensive gauge it's more a guide anyway.

Bloody freezing tonight but managed to put the side panel on the unit and mount the switch panel in it, and also put the upper shelf in. Switch panel looks on the piss but I’m sure it’s not having measured it a few times, hopefully it’s just the photo!

Bit of progress on the van today. Doesn’t look like much but took the best part of the afternoon to finish the shelving, add a bit more framing and then put the front cover on and start cutting the access holes.

(That scruffy one bottom right will be hidden by the bed, it’s just a bit of access for the battery)

I'm no chippy or carpenter but isn't the framework a little overkill?..... was there a reason for not building the framework from the passenger B pillar and using that floor step angle to build out from. With 10mm board surely you could do away with the framing especially with that solid partition backing.

I'm not criticising - just wondered if there was a reason!

It's heavy duty, that's for sure. I am a carpenter, btw.

Point taken it is definitely very heavy duty, basically when I started it I hadn’t considered screwing the panels onto the frame so had to fill the space between the frame and the mdf on the front and side. Was easier to just use what was on hand than buy new materials and redo it. It’s all a learning exercise!

I didn’t want the panel to impact using the side door too much, especially for when shoving bikes in the van they can be a right pain to move about especially the longer DH bikes.

If you are going to be bashing bikes into it then it's probably better how you've built it.

At least it should be robust

I prefer the word rugged. Sounds more expensive.
