                    • Just ordered a galvanised sill/door step for the nearside front. Would the paint buffs among you be able tell me if you need to use etch primer when painting such a thing?

                      • Clean the galvanised part with white vinegar , lightly sand the step , clean with a tack rag and then use 1k etch primer ( that’s what I’d do )

Acid etch if you go to auto paint they sell it in spray cans mate. Bites into the metal to give you a good key

                          • Cheers Kev, I know not a thing about repaint/painting. If I get enough info I may borrow the old chaps spray gun and have a go myself..........what could possibly go wrong?

ID:	265644 Will cut the step out next week. Hell there was some sort of crap in the channel. Must of been a builders van in another life there was even some really rusty drill bits in it.
