  • Caravelle GL Syncro 2.5 1992 benzin

    Hello,
Just bought a Caravelle. After the long journey the first morning at my place. Pick it up from Cologne, and 300 km pulled with my poor Caddy.

Conversion in to camping bus for my family.
Some upgrade will come in 2-3 months, to match better the needs of traveling during vacations. Becouse the Caravelle already has an option to fold the seats making a bed, the main reason for upgrade is to gain more storage space. And some transformed table for coffee break. No any kind of kitchen have in my plans.

Yesterday stripped of side panels and found some strange object under it.., above back wheel arch. Like a plastic tank with the wires connection and fuse.

Plasma container for the warp drive. Sorry, not a clue! Maybe a bass sub for the stereo?

The betontriplex plates are glued on with Makroflex (PU foam).

Total thickness of "sandwich" ~11-12 mm. And it's waterproof, sound proof and strong enough. Next step is vinyl floor.

                            Yes original early Caravelle wheels
Still searching for one or two more of those. For a spare wheel to hang on my back door.

                              Hello,
Keeping with upgrade of rear seats. As I mentioned extra storage space is the priority question. Triple back seats are changed to the double. And they are litle modified. The support frame is welded.

And the lower part (legs) of seats frame are cut of.

Before amputation of legs, the top part of seats frame reinforced.
