I remember years ago ( was between 7-10yr old when I lived there) my dad use to take me and my brother to watch the games.
This was early 80’s, as were from Manchester but moved to Blackpool were all Man Utd fans but couldn’t go to Old Trafford anymore so we watched Blackpool.
Remember a preseason friendly against Liverpool ( Bruce Grobbelar , how ever you spell it ) was in goal for Liverpool, HT 2-0 to Blackpool, we were buzzing!!!
Only to realise Liverpool hadn’t even got into 2nd gear!

At least I had my hopes up for a while. So wanted Blackpool to win as Liverpool dominated the old Div 1 in the 80’s and Man Utd never had a sniff ( except 2 FA cups ) so was really wanting a Blackpool win!
Looking back now , there’s more chance of a flying unicorn shitting gold nuggets into my garden from a height than Blackpool winning that!!! 🤣
