The Tdi is a conversion , so you might get a few problems .. although a good spanner man could deal with problems , I'd personally have the one with less rust

HMMM definetly toying with the 2.5
will be a daily runner too and from work also
aswell as needing rear seats and side windows .. any one know of any one local to maidstone that could help with the windows ?

if i got the 2.5 whats the worst case scenario for the heaters ?
find the parts from the scrappy ?
obviously wont know the issue unless i buy ?
locks in drivers door and barn doors shouldnt be a issue i presume

            thanks

scabby yes .. seen worse for more money on both vans ..
idea is to wrap them . shouldnt take much work to get good then wrap .
i have battle ship grey in mind

forgot to mention the 1.9 doesnt have heating issues but temp gauge is temperamental , and flashing coil light ?

Locks are easy if you can play with the spanners and curclip pliers

On some vdubs if the .coil (glow plug) light comes/flashes in means the brake light switch is fecked

Each van has its pros and cons to us as existing drivers. You'll love it what ever you buy.

Bottom line as a prospective buyer is your budget.
Both vans need money, time, effort and constant TLC.
You've stated that you cannot buy both at a £2k outlay (which would be a good move and one that could pay off financially in the medium term)
So, your budget is what? An additional £800?

So, financially you need to assess your expenditure against your budget and time frame.

                              MOT soon
                              Insurance
                              Tax
Initial necessities and buys - heating repair? What else?
Repairs - What needs doing and when?
                              Mods - Wheels / Tyres , Glass , Seating , Suspension , Stereo
Maintenance - Servicing , Belts , Turbo , Timing ? What needs doing and when?
                              Shows

As we all know and experience, these vans can bite you on the arse and suck your spare cash - sometimes they're choices , sometimes they're forced upon you.

That's half the fun, I got a 1.9td as our dad had a 2.4 and said it was crap but I actually think they aren't . I always liked the golf 1.9td but the 2.5tdi never entered my head. But think our first t4 wont be our last.
