Heyyyy I'm a newbie on here and thought it would be cool to document my build/progress on the bus..
So I'm starting with a 2.5 td non intercooled beast lol 235k on the clock but goood history with it.
here she is when I picked her up, it's naturally a her lol as it takes all my money and demands my attention hahaha
After picking it up I was pretty shocked at how well it drove compared to the last one I had 1.9td and a dog!
Bought my first mod that night as I couldnt deal with leaning down all the time to change gear, so annoying!! So gear stick extension was ordered.
and fitted
So that's it now the flood gates opened for modding and spending lol
Next up was upgraded headlight loom as the old headlights were like candles in jam jars, shocking! Bought the kit off Ebay with bulbs for £40 odd. Good mod, here's before and after fitting. Very pleased with the result
I then decided I wanted to convert it for use at motorsport events, F1, BTCC ETC. So set to work trawling through all the usual places looking for the bits i needed. Came across a complete interior on Gumtree not to far away so yeah I snapped that up, it included side cabinet with sink and hob (smev) rock n rolla bed (DIY made) leisure battery and few shelves etc. Took the drive to Poole to collect. Very happy with the purchase and the seller was brilliant, sent deposit and collected without issue the next weekend.
I was getting increasingly annoyed using the key all the time to unlock the bus so next up with remote central locking kit! Happy with this for a £20 kit off ebay. Works a treat!
Thoughts turned to the insulating and boarding, I was lucky enough to know a few people in the game and got it done for me rather than me make a mess of it, very happy indeed with how it came out, no joins visible and the drive is sooooo much quieter now!! Also added LED's in the roof too which was a nice touch.
Before and after
Pressed plates to get rid of the nasty ones on there.
Before and after
Fused Control panel purchased
Sink fitting kit also purchased £10 ebay win lol along with LED'S for the unit to be fitted
Had to see what they look like fitted lolol Loving it #redlightditrict
Picked up a 12v TV for £50
Being a tig ally welder for my job is good, made a little battery bracket so it don't slide around
So this is where I'm at, next job is to fit electrics, 240 hook up and split charger system. Prob should have done before insulating and boarding but It's my first rodeo lol, I have split charge system ready and waiting to be fitted. Put unit in temporary to see what room I had to fit things, so hopefully next update will be me either electricuted to death or have the electrics wired in and working...
I will update as and when something happens.. I hope you like the progress in just 3 weeks of owning, I'm not the patient of people lol
Cheers
Dan
