Does it make any difference now they're the same each side? I always wondered why VW went for different on each side, probably been asked loads of times before 😂 looks good tho mate 👍

Apparently to do with the field of vision from the drivers seat. Driver side mirror is closer to the driver and as you are high up a narrow bit wide mirror gives more of a letterbox view of the road vs a tall narrow mirror. The passenger mirror is far enough away that you get a broader view anyway plus making it wider helps with blind spots on inside lanes etc. Plus being narrower driver side helps avoid mirror damage from other vans, cars etc when parked or when other vans squeezing past.

These are just the theories I have heard!

I am thinking of putting a left hand drive left hand side mirror on S49 as coming back from Donny got fed up of craning me neck to check if traffic was coming up our inside lane.

I have 2 narrow ones on Ness, look ace but field of vision on drivers is rubbish, even after I have a convex mirror

I've had a LHD nearside mirror for about a year but didn't like the field of vision, changed back. The looks are symmetrical though.
