  • Dual purpose van.

Ok so I thought it best time i start my build thread. Wish me luck because I am rubbish with technology. So, this is Adolfo. The children name our cars (we also have a volvo called Tanquito) and this one is in no way connected to the little Austrian chap with the dubious ideologies, just to be clear.

Ok. Found a way. Long winded but...... So, Adolfo. 2.5tdi (acv) twin slider with a tail gate. These are the main boxes ticked for me. Bought from my boss for half the market value on the understanding i use him for work for two years as he wasnt scheduled for replacement until that time. I have to maintain him so in the end he will cost me his full market value but will be well sorted by then. I have replaced timing belt, cleared all the calcium from the water system ( was full, no circulation hardly) and fixed a number of other things to make him healthy. Spent 1300 euro so far!

So this will be more of an evolution than a build. Its important that those who follow this understand a few things from the start. It does get used for work and for camping on the beach so anything i do has to be removable. Also, because of the draconian anti-modification laws here i cant alter the vehicle in any way without presenting it for homologation (600e per time). It would fail its inspection (every 6 months remember) if there are unrecorded changes. I cant just bang a set of 18 inch wheels on, that would require homologation......etc. One last thing to consider please, im very easily destracted so i reserve the right to go off on a tangent at any point.

                      Your van is like mine

                      Work / general / camper.

I have a rock and roll bed in the back of mine and enough space either side to fit my work stuff in. I just remove work stuff when I want to use the 3 seats in the back or go camping.

It's a pain in the ass at times but I manage
