I wish it was just that!

Big clunking noise coming from offside wheel arch area. I just had new CV joint fitted so suspected it was something they had done. However, once in the ramp looks like there is loads of play in the drive shaft going into the gear box.

They are going to see if they can just tighten up the inner joint (just an Allen key apparently?) but have warned that worse case may be a gearbox strip down?

Any thoughts chaps? Iím out of my depth with this one!

I'm glad for you sirfbum. I had mine rebuilt 2 years ago at an eye watering £900... And that was with the garage looking after me.

Glad you don't have to pay the same.

Glad its the new joint mate. If they were tightening it with an allen key it would mean they hadn't tightened it up when they first fitted it. Either way happy daze for your wallet.
