    Sounds like it could be...
    I had a rear wheel come loose years ago, thought it was the brake caliper rattling.
    Might be a good idea to take the wheel off and inspect the bolt seats - the holes can become elongated when it's been run with loose bolts/nuts. If they have, they may never stay tight properly.

        Sorry mate, check the bolt holes in the wheel, not the hub - hub should be okay. If the holes have elongated, it's game over for the wheel, or you could put it on the back where there's less stress - checking the torque regularly until you're happy.
