    How much would a cam belt change cost?

    Hi folks, just wondering if anybody can give me an idea about how much a cam belt/timing belt and water pump belt change cost? Just bought my 1st T4, a 97 plate. I have no service history so recon to play it safe I need one of these along with an oil change.

    I’m in the Stockport area so can anybody give me any pointers?

    No idea on cost but if your after a reliable garage either French connection in Hyde he is a t4 guy through and through. Or crescent motors in Dukinfield neat to Morrison's.

      Welcome!

      Bought mine in August and had all that done plus major service. Came to £944! Was hard to swallow but at least I know it’s sorted for a fair few miles now. Knock off the service you’re prob looking at £600 dependant on garage.

        I had my 2.5 tdi done by my mechanic mate cam belt water pump pulleys all belts and a service for £350, I think he sorted me out a bit tho.

          Paid £350 recently for service, cambelt & steering belt. Mobile mechanic so probably cheaper than garages

            I charge about 100 - 150 for a 1.9 plus parts

            Don't ever quote for the 2.5 as I don't need the hassle

                You don't state what engine? 2.5 is more expensive. Using oem parts expect to pay £450 plus.

                  I'd charge 150 to 200 plus parts find someone that's done a few or a vdub fan.
