No ISOLux charts for the VW OEM headlights I'm afraid mate, they have been in circulation for almost 30 years ! The comparison tests will have to be done in real time. So forum members will actually see the difference between the units, and other aftermarket headlights. Should be quite interesting

            • Turk,

This is an amazing project you are doing. I am very excited that I found this thread. Please add me to your list.

1995 Short Nose Long Wheelbase in the US, so it is a LHD van.

              Thanks

Many thanks for the kind words Dokaman

Just added you to the 'Pre-Order List' my friend. Not a problem supplying you across the pond with SAE/DOT US approved Hella units, I have a partner account with Hella Europe so can supply all their units.
I already have a few forum members on the 'Pre-Order List' from the US, and all depending in which state you're in in the US you may be able to run with UNECE E1 spec Hella units, that are actually far superior than their SAE/DOT counterparts. The Hella units I use in the build are RHD/LHD switcheable, also known as the 'Tourist Solution', I use mine as LHD also as I'm based in France.

                            • I can't believe you dragged that video clip out the 'archives' guys, it really is a very poor video recorded on an iPhone 4 ( which aren't the best for recording at night ! ) . With dirt and a build up of condensation on my windscreen, it really doesn't do justice to the Hella 'Classic' Series as I could see far better than in the video. Can't remember off hand if that was the very first video I ever did ......... maybe it was this one, but at least with this indoor video you can clearly see the low beams exceptional cut-off area.

And a little more 'Nina Simone' You'll have to forgive me for the blackness in the first few seconds of the video ........... I was feeling about for the light switch ! >>

Compare that video above to what the MOT inspector will be looking for >>

@Hans ............. yes, I'm also working on a long nose version of the quad headlights.

Thanks for the reply and adding me to the list. I definitely want the E-Code lights and not the DOT version. Thanks for the heads up on that difference.
