  • Fibreglass cracking

    So...any experts in fibreglass
The hightop is showing signs of old age...much like myself
Had spiderweb like cracks and painted over a couple of times but just reappears a few moths later
Is rubbing down and putting on resin the way to go or is there another fix

No expert but sound like the gel coat is cracking, repairable what not sure what you should use.

Must be a common symptom with age, weathering etc. If it was mine I'd look to the Motorhome forums perhaps?

What's available online & else where?

Can you post up some pics perhaps?

I do fibreglass flat roofing for a living. Gel coat will crack over time, especially on vehicles (due to vibration and flex). Best cure is a good run down to get a good key and then reapply a gelcoat.

Not the greatest of photos...standing on a block of wood
looks worse than I thought ...been you tubing gelcoat repairs, I'm thinking give the cracks a wee scuff with the dremmel and fill before rubbing down and gel coating
Would putting strengtheners inside be worth the effort ??
