  • Other options for knocking could be ARB hitting subframe in which case you need shorter drop links, or if when steering over bumps could be track rod against chassis

    • You are a brave man if you drive like a Wally and you are proper low, that's how pendulum mounts get ripped off

      • Other people have mentioned the jom units, I've not used them so can't comment either way but those that have them like them?

        • Dave Sausages. Do these turret the shock into the chassis rail to give the shock more travel?? Or does the top of the shock sit in roughly the same place as the standard plate??

          • Depends on the brand of shock and the design of the shroud, some sit in an inch further, some less

            • Just had a measure, an inch further in is pretty typical

                            ARB looked fairly clear

track rods were miles away, besides it's straight lines, small bumps in road that are causing the drumming like a duff ball joint (it's not that but I did do out in the dark last night with a torch to check I had tightened the lower ball joints to the hub after removing them to swing the driveshafts away.

Mine bangs now on potholes far more since lowering. In effect the springing is weaker having taken some tension off the torsion bars.

                              • Yeah, my torsion bars are hardly under any tension now and make some right rattles, but it just adds to the biscuit tin orchestra
