How's the new welder & setup, does the quality show?

Not in those pictures because it's migged with my crappy sip.

The TIG is still sat in the box - no gas. But yeah the quality would show, TIG is slow but so much neater.

Got home about six last night and realised I was locked out with no keys.

No worries I think, missus will be home soon, I'll just wait.....

Then I get a text, she's just got on the train and wont be home until eight.

Took me about two minutes to get a couple of items from the shed and open the garage door, no point wasting time waiting.

The exhaust is pretty much complete but the downpipe join to the rest of the system isn't great, the two are at different angles and the main pipe is being forced too low and the downpipe is being pulled down onto the steering rack.

Simple problem that took about two hours to solve, first I cut a vee in the downpipe to add a slight dogleg to guide it up and over the steering rack.

Now the downpipe exit is at the right height but completely the wrong angle so I untack the vee, rotate the pipe 5 degrees and re-tack.

Now the downpipe is at the right angle but too high - no worries because the main pipe is too low and only just tacked on one point at the join I want to move. I snap the tack weld in situ, reposition the pipe and mark the new position with a pen.

Remove the main pipe and weld up al the joins - and it's done.

Just have to weld a bracket on the downpipe to pick up a mounting point on the subframe......

then the family turned up and it was game over.
