With business being slack , I had the bright idea of buying a T4 .

All car / van buying rules were thrown out the window .

I bought it blind and someone else’s project , but the price was right , well I thought it was .

It’s a non runner , head has been removed and is missing and it’s been stood for at least 3 years .

I’ll start the pics with the bad points.

    Engine I might rebuild .

Unfortunately their are no good pics

Both congrats and respect (I think). Now I know you're a masochist, Kev.

Fingers crossed business picks up then, eh?

Thanks , yes a glutton for punishment , I’m sure it will be enjoyable , frustrating and annoying all at the same time .

Yep hopefully business picks up .

Oh yeah, a new build thread with lots of rust and mechanicals. Not a cupboard or RnR bed in sight. This'll be a good un.

Even if it looks like it was pulled out of an Essex canal

Motor wise theres no Golf 3 TDs in any of the yards near you Kev? Rocking horse shit now i spect. You have first refusal on the lump in mine when it comes out in the spring. Looking at the welding you can maybe wait till then.

Thanks, the van came with an aaz engine , but I’d like to keep it abl , I’ve phoned around the local breakers and they have nothing in .

The plan is to get it running first , sounds a bit backwards but having the van running means I can drive it in and out of the workshop as I’ll be doing the van around my engineering work , last thing I need is the van stuck in workshop for months.

I can dig that mate, the pick up wouldnt be as far down the rebuild road if it didnt move under its own steam.

Was this van used for pulling boats out the sea at Abberporth?
