      • Not sure what they had primed it with and they painted over rust so we gave the chassis from the cab back a good clean up then painted again for good measure. Two small repairs to finish the cab floor and one at the back of the rear left side inner sill. And the right hand bonnet hinge to drill out the spot welds and replace. I do have an early hingewith the built in bonnet stay but thinking of going like for like as i'm not confident of getting it in the right place. But we'll see.

          • Moving the gun slower as per your advice mate.Theres a few "spare " holes in the corragated roof where it lives now so there were a few splashes on it.Just before xmas we dried it all off and covered with a dirty great tarp but most of the rust thats shown through i think was down to the previous owners quick covering to get it sold. I'm convinced they didnt start the project as the archs and inner wings had been done to a far better standard than i could do.Then the left inner arch is worse than my attempt and things have been stripped in a strange sort of way. Maybe they just got fed up.

            • Thats the cab welding done. Not a "patch" on how are dad or a restorer would do but its solid. Click image for larger version

                  • Made a cock up when i bought a spray gun for the top coat. Got a Low Volume Low Pressure gun in error. But to be fair it seemed to go on ok after some fffing about with the pressure settings on the gun and the regulator set to 25 psi.

                    • The bumpkins warming to the task now. Remembered yesterday that the rear door seal lips were a bit rusty. Kept me awake most the night but it went much better than i expected. Click image for larger version

                              • The bit on the inner sill and the right hand rear door seal lip. Then its lots of rubbing down and the trial and error of learning how to spray it. I have the advantage unlike with Mols bus of not having to try to match any paint already there. Then get a screen fitted and attempt the jigsaw that is the pile of interior parts i have.Oh and the small matter of fitting the 1.8t.
