  • Turbo rebuild do a billet wheel that matches my turbo PN and current fitted wheel size though? Doesn’t mention any machining that’s needed:

    • Theres an Audi 100 (90-01) that comes up with no specs on ETKA just states 88KW K16.2 . The machining has already been done to the K16 compressor housing and K14 turbine housing so should be a straight swap for the billet wheel.

          Of course you're needed. How much for machining the compressor / turbine housings Kev? What would I need to send you?

            • Today I ordered (for the K16):

              Rebuild kit
              2.5” SS V band kit
              Universal 2.5” 3 bolt flange
              Turbo gasket set
              60.5/40.5 billet compressor wheel

              All from turbo rebuild and excluding the billet comp wheel, Mellett parts.

              Should give it a decent chance but the comp wheel is made to order so will take 7-10 days to come.

              I’ll clean up and rebuild the turbo in advance whilst I wait for the billet wheel. I’ll also weld up the exhaust outlet with some 2.5” pipe, the flange and the v band. Then it’ll just be the existing 90 degree downpipe to weld the other v band bit to and it’s away! Well almost, the turbo oil feed and boost controller need going but they’ll be a piece of piss so I’m not worried about them yet.

              • I started striping and cleaning up the turbo as some of the stuff came: unfortunately, while I was cleaning up the turbo in the kitchen sink with carb cleaner, I didn’t realise the hob was on and a fireball then ensued from the vapour. Lost pretty much all the hair off my arms and stomach and my left hand and right arm are pretty burnt lol bet I won’t do that again as I wrecked a perfectly good tee shirt and beenie hat PMSL.

                      • I cracked on with the turbo some tonight: new journal bearings in and seals. Have it a bit of a clean up to:

                        To be fair it felt great with no noticeable change in shaft play between the new and old bearings but it’s peace of mind. Billet comp wheel should arrive tomorrow.

                        The last piece of the puzzle is the oil feed and return. I think I’ll have to go for generic/universal type setup
