Cracking on with the bushes... Old ones out, and one side replaced using the Hans method.

Have I pressed the rear in at the incorrect angle/rotation?

8tonne for the wheel bearing. 3.5 for the bushes, not sure the cast iron take 8 tonnes...

Andreas told me he used an 8t one and it only just did it.

They should be both metal sleeved. They do two different ones for the rear. A split on and one in one piece. Is yours before or after 96?

I get it... Will it be enough to remove the metal sleeved rear bush?

The old ones get pushed through with a smaller socket

    Me likey Hans!

Got a bottle jack and some blocks of wood, looked at my vice this morning - not sure it's big enough (stop it!). Got to drill out and cut the old ones first - that'll have to wait till the weekend, my only spare time is either early morning or late evenings (not suitable for power tools!).

Smash it like fuck would be my last resort, but i would get to that stage quite quickly!

I read this as: “Smash it like fuck with a hammer”. This is precisely what I’d do but in future I’m going to describe it as drifting them in.

Hans method works a treat though. Same with Si’s vice one. Both just need holding nice and square when pressing but easy enough.

Try it like that. Easy enough. Simple and cheap.

Not sure you wouldnt damage them, a press or pushed in via a big vice would be kinder i reckon.
