    Engine mount holes need to be tapped, along with a few other holes on the block. My old set just wasn't man enough - it'll chase out threads, but couldn't cut new ones very well.

    Even though it won't be seen, i thought while it was apart I'd give some bits a liberal coating of hammerite - keep the rust at bay. But now I've run out...

    Was 2 years ago when I did it , with basic tools lol was a little harder cuz van was 2.4 so had to get loads of bits ,, but when I got ill had to leave it and then I sold the whole lot on , but I've driven one with a fitted engine and it's night an Day ,

    I found the longest 1/4" socket extension i could find, with some wobble bits - out it came, but it still needed brute force to pull it off the brake pedal. 😉

    I must admit it's quite stressful... Not wanting to disturb anything else, and cause me future problems.
    I've gone for the read, read, read again, then do! 👍
    But the more you look at it, the more it makes sense. After stripping the golf one, you get a good idea of what's what, just hope i remember it all when it comes to putting it all back in... 🤔

    I got to the precise point with getting the wiring in on my last van .... then had a stroke lol , must have been the stress [emoji13] , when mine goes bang I might have another go , till then low an sloooow lol

    Due to my shoulder injury I've been messing with the wiring looms...

    Golf one is now stripped and labelled, ready to be plugged in. Van one is now removed in readiness! 👍
