That’s not far off my 2.5. 70 at 2600rpm. Why would you paint the end plate? Also, might be a SW meet soon!

Yes, I read the thread. Depending on the weekend it sounds great - and I don't mind Somerset neither.

5th gear mod now sorted... Took the opportunity to paint the gearbox end plate whilst it was off.

Done some miles now;

50mph - 2000rpm
60mph - 2400rpm
70mph - 2800rpm

It pulls okay at low speeds, but the build up is noticeably slower. Need to try it out on a motorway or dual carriageway to report long hill performance - maybe A30 tomorrow.

Oh, gear is an 0.62 on a TDI conversion with some mods (fmic, PD130 intake, decat and egr delete).

Good to get some white van feedback, ... There's very little - so it's reported - that holds them back!

It's just that the white ones only change into fifth at 120, so can be a tad excessive in normal town driving.

mine had an 'included' thrust washer, I messaged the seller, he explained that they were "briefly out of stock", "expected in next week" and would send one "as soon as possible"

still waiting for it.........

I machined mine down to suit.

Think your final drive will be lower so you may pull the 0.62 ok - the 4-5 gap may be a bit obvious on hills.
