Dropped Ray off for major service, cambelt water pump etc on Thursday night as unsure when these things were last done. It's nearly Tuesday and they haven't finished yet? Are these things really that tricky to work on? I'm sure I can hear the garage ringing up the £££!

Left messages with a couple of vw specialists but no one came back so went to local garage in Honiton that we bought our car from. Not sure they'd ever seen a T4 before :/

Well it's ended up costing a fair bit more than anticipated, but they changed all the belts, pump and a few extra bits plus major service. Just short of a grand in total. Have managed to swallow that , just, but Ray sounded horrendous on the way home. Loud ticking clicking sound that wasn't there before and got louder the faster I went. Looked in engine bay when home and first thing I saw was that power steering fluid res wasn't even in its housing, not that that would cause the racket. Straight onto the virtual assistant ( all the real people had gone home) at the garage to demand it goes back in tomorrow night to find out what's wrong. Anybody got any ideas please what the sound may be before I make a tit of myself at the garage?

Ps hope my eyes stop bleeding soon!!

Engine speed or vehicle speed related, they should of noticed it on road test surely. My base is just outside of a village so I have to pop most customers home, real useful to pick up anything untoward and point it out so there are no misunderstandings. But you wouldn't believe some of the states some vehicles are in. And at one point the government were thinking of stretching the mot to 2 or 3 years.........crazy.

You'd have thought so but I think they rushed it in the end. I'm not sure they got round to that as it was meant to include valet and to be fair it came out muckier than it went in. Shame really as we bought our car there and have always had great service and no issues. Good thing was though they said it seemed really sound for its age.

Defo get it back there first thing...

Just using the wrong oil can make it sound like a bag of spanners.

                    What engine is it?
