      Alternator surely?

Voltage with the engine running way too low, no output also meaning dynamic oil pressure not being regulated.

Hi guys. My split charger system seems to be engine speed related. Had the same system on old 2.4d and it worked fine. Now it is on the newer van the light seems to flash with engine speed. On od lvan it came on when started and stayed on constant which is how it should be. The wire is connected to the blue wire on the alternator

        Any help is. Grateful

        Thanks guys

What’s attached to the blue wire? The split charger? Mine is attached to the battery directly with fuses either side of the relay.

Tommy. The man that fitted it made it himself. Caravan. Technition. It was fitted to the 8mm bolt on the old 2.4. Alternator 2.5. Not the same fitting

That’s doesn’t sound right to me. The blue wire is for engine speed pulse signals isn’t it? That may be more appropriate to the non tdi’s though as I imagine they take the engine speed signal from the crank pos sensor. To have that kind of power running down a little wire that you’d clamp down with an 8mm nut seems odd. I’m absolutely not an expert on wiring and we ALL know that* but that just doesn’t sound right at all. I fitted mine as per the spec/destructions from xtremevan as they had an offer on at the time and they’re only 25 minutes from me.

*with this in mind, it’s probably best i stfu.

A 1.9 97 T4 is in my opinion probably something wrong in the instrument cluster, printed circuit or cracked soldered joint.

But i would earth each oil pressure sensor to rule them out

Hi. Guys I swapped it from van to van and connected it to the blue wire. There must be another for it to go too. Was working all OK on the old van
