Another little mod that I am very happy with are the black grab handles.
After sticking to a black and grey OEM theme, the awful old brown/cream/dirty grab handles had to go.
Did a bit if research and took the plunge with a set of handles from a Skoda Octavia RS, some of which had a ltd edition black interior.
I heard that they fit in other VAG motors, so for £20 for a full set, I thought it was worth a gamble.
Here they are. OEM T4 compared to the Skoda's
Nearly spot on!
The only major difference is the depth of the pad that sits between the A-Pillar plastic cover and the metal of the A-pillar itself.
Decided that 3-4 washers would be able to pack out the difference.
The other difference that I only spotted after they were installed is that the OEMs sit 'flatter' than the Skodas when they are not being used.
i.e. they don't close as much, so they are more horizontal. For me, this is a very minor drawback to the perfect look I was after.
Tiny mod, made a big difference.
No need for the snaps matey ........ I can see from the last pic that they're not so bad sticking out a bit. And I can't actually see anybody bumping their heads on them. In fact, I was thinking of blanking mine off all together as I never use them, but having seen this post I think they finish off the front cab area quite well.
Thanks mate

One question, as the handles look like the same moulding, could you hybrid the VW bases and the skoda handle? A bit of black vinyl dye on the bases would keep them black enough to remain hidden.
Didn't even think about it at the time!
